Coast, mountains or desert: choosing your season

There is no single best time to visit Morocco. Match your travel dates to the part of the country you want to see.

Spring and autumn for cities

March to May and September to November bring comfortable temperatures to Marrakech, Fes and Meknes. Summers in inland cities can be very hot.

Summer on the coast and in the mountains

The Atlantic coast, from Essaouira to Tangier, is cooler in July and August, and the Middle Atlas around Ifrane and Azrou stays pleasant when the plains are hot.

Winter sun and snow

Agadir and the south have mild winters. The High Atlas and Middle Atlas get snow, and Michlifen near Ifrane operates as a small ski area when conditions allow. Desert nights are cold in winter.
